Ongoing envelope series.
This started with a magazine page of cupcakes (which in the end i could have used as an idea and abandoned.
The envelopes that form its core are filofax expense envelopes from the 1990s. The inserts are pamphlets cut with the cricut from Atlas pages (at a slight angle, which pleases me greatly). It was a lot of up and down to the cricut, which is on top of a shelf in my studio, to cut 15 pages.
Each cupcake on the inserts was cut out of the page, and then I backed with some colours. in retrospect my need to use leftover papers sometimes causes me a heap of extra work – in this case I sometimes used only a scrap of paper large enough to cover the cupcake, which meant i had to find another piece of paper to cover the back of the paper, so that the inside of the pamphlet had consistent colour on the left hand page. The inserts are cut from a translucent paper.
The poem is The Patience of Ordinary Things.
