Back in April 2024 I did a heap of monoprints, some of which you’ll find below, based on the terrace houses idea which I’ve been drawing for years. It’s simply, geometric and I just like it. There’s a reason that I have a “houses” theme on this blog.
A few of them were quite pleasing and “ghost-like”. I pulled them together onto a single 2d image, which creates this one. There are 7 of the ghosty pieces, on 110gsm smooth paper I’ve had in my corporate box for more than 20 years. The 8th panel is some wallpaper from my black and white stash i bought at Reverse Garbage.
It’s been sitting on my pinboard since April, because i didn’t know what to do. So this week I took out my favourite Gansai Tambi watercolours (a warm blue, a warm crimson red, and a cool yellow… and afterwards a warm yellow, hence the two different versions of the image below. Now to work out where and how to hang it, and what to take down from my lounge room walls.
