The sea is an un-ending source of energy, chaos and re-invention. These pieces were oyster shells. Then buttons. Now they resemble rocks. They return to the sea.
So Julie Bookless gave me some mother of pearl buttons which came in a lovely package (the packaging itself is worth a photo)
And then I destroyed it (as you must), and stacked them and threaded them and played with glue until I got them into this
Here are the individual “piles” which resemble ocean side rocks (because they are mother-of-pearl buttons, they are made from oyster shells, so it makes sense that they would have a seaside feel to them!). They shimmer too.
