I think the National Gallery of Victoria – Ian Potter Centre are trying to leverage their collections (and why not, so many pix don’t see the light of day).
I was in Melbourne, and I went to see the Van Gogh exhibition at NGV on the other side of the river. I was disappointed mostly because it was so immensely popular. many of the works i was familiar with because I’d seen them in Chicago and in Arles, St Remy de Provence, and places like that. These weren’t the famous ones (the sunflowers, the rooms, they were absent). They were showcasing the seasons, and under ordinary circumstances I’d have spent an hour or two there. But it was wall-to-wall people.
So back across the river to the Ian Potter Centre, and I had a lovely time.
If you want to know who did all of these works, check out my instagram feed for 21 June 2017.
Otherwise, here are some pix.
