Original lyrics by Cindy Tonkin to the tune of Since I put your picture in a frame by Tom Waits
My name is Anne I’m a pirate bold x3
I’m a pirate on the caribbean sea
Maraud all day and party all night x3
I’m a pirate on the caribbean sea
Bridge:
One tragic day my husband was killed
Oh no
I want revenge, gonna kill that cur x3
I’m a pirate on the caribbean sea
I said You killed my husband, prepare to die (x3)
I’m a pirate on the caribbean sea
Bridge:
Your life is over say your prayers and forget
Oh yeah
But he saw in me what I see in him x3
I’m a pirate on the caribbean sea
No shots were fired, he married me x3
Now we’re pirates on the caribbean sea
Maraud all day and party all night x3
Cause we’re pirates on the Caribbean sea

vaguely inspired by the story of Anne Dieu-le-Veut: Anne challenged buccaneer Laurens de Graaf to a duel to avenge the death of her late spouse. He drew his sword, Anne drew her gun, after which Laurens succumbed by saying he would not fight a female. He then proposed to her in admiration of her courage.
