It’s been a while since I’ve made anything – my collage series was put aside as my brother renovated my house, and i started singing at Shanties more, and teaching improv (yes, when DO i get time to make art?).
So i took a few of the old collages (24 of them actually) and made them into a larger piece, which you see below.
Rightly or wrongly I joined them with the sewing machine (which is NEVER a predictable thing, especially since I don’t seem to be able to keep a straight line when the piece is just a little too wide for the machine’s platform).
I have a feeling that it may need one more thing (a splash? an inked in set of letters from my growing collection of templates?). For now it’s clamped to the existing grid of last year’s collages, we’ll see what happens. With my new white walls I’m wanting large and high colour pieces for my own walls, so the black and orange appealed.
