Make graceful and lasting change

Buildings and such

Cindy Tonkin - March 19, 2025

A few weeks ago I collaged almost all of the leftover tissue paper I had onto some old calendars. It was initially for Blue Home. This is one of the other ones that I hadn’t yet finished working on.

These pieces are both A1-sized (like the calendars were).

The skyscraper image has a pleasing “tiger” in the background behind the building.

The terraces are just black markers on the collage. The collage includes some pieces of swirls and such I made for a book, and then kept. As I cleaned up the studio over January I put collaged them in. Now they form a part of the total work

The downside of making art in two dimensions is storing the pieces afterwards, especially when they are this large!

It is a really pleasurable experience drawing/writing / making marks on shiny paper with a Sharpie.
