This is part of the chairs series.
The difference is that it took an existing collage banner from around 2012 or 2013 and added a layer of chairs on top.
It adds a level of complexity which I find quite pleasing.
I also originally planned to put the black outline from the bottom all the way to the top, but I like how it actually weighs the banner down
It was a lovely way to spend an evening!
The work at the base includes collaged ephemera from trips to Paris in 2004 (maybe?) and Italy in 2003, as well as some bits of paperback novels. then there are layers of glaze.
The banner measures around 72 x 180cm (i didn’t measure exactly).
