My first grown up art teacher, Adrienne Crouch, used to say that you had to do the work before to get to the one you’re working on. The Dinner Party theme emerged from two things: the people with animal heads series and what preceded that, which was me having a heap of old art books on my shelves I never ever looked at. They make, of course, fabulous collage options, and when I use the same book the print run is the same, so even works with different feels have similar colours.
It was in the middle of Relation Altered that I side-tracked into LC Turns Dinner, and it was off. i returned to Relation Altered, added the blue spoons which laid the foundation for January 2024 when I did the bigger version, Feed Each Other. This series will continue, I suspect.
