This piece was done before 2004, because in 2004 I had an “exhibition” at home where it was offered for sale.
I was working my way through a mini-obsession with photographs of an old piano, taken at Ellengowan, a house we stayed in at Sturt Summer School, probably 2004. They look very pink now, but at the time I was very much in love with that pink. I also used some of my maternal grandmother’s sheet music, which has been a constant store-house of inspiration for me.
I photographed the work leaning against my front verandah, and then I cropped them. So I have left all as is. Some of the cropped works are more beautiful than the whole thing.
