I’ve been working on grandfather clocks in many forms for a while now.

This one is built from an old mattress box I picked up in the street.
I had learnt from the other clocks a few things:
- keep it light so i can move it (wheels if not)
- make sure it’s weighted at the bottom so it doesn’t topple
- remember to have access for the actual clock mechanism.
This one is covered in Czerny five-finger exercises, and then I painted it with floor varnish. Mitch was staying with me at the time and it was an excellent suggestion from him.
I made a small door in the back of the clock and put in a small cinder block. I mostly slide it around right now, but i can remove it for lifting if I need to.
The small door in the back is not quite finished, but it’s good enough for me. since i try to remember that every work is a maquette, it’s just a first draft!
