Kangaroo Valley Folk Festival 18 – 20 October 2024. Here’s a few of the thousands of minutes of video and photos we took of Redfern Shanty Club / Randy Dandy Shanty Club.
Here’s why I love singing with the Shanty Club people: us singing around 11:30pm in the campgrounds in the dark, our version of Shenandoah.
And here we are singing Hose me Down Boys, led by Dan Werndly – the harmonies and being inside those harmonies are worth a million bucks in experience points!!
Here’s me leading Donald Where’s Your Trousers – It’s in a tent called La Petite Grande, a tiny round tent with the nicest vibe ever.
And the end for the same song, including the inside of Ellen’s handbag.
Here’s me leading London Town (which has kinda become my signature tune). You’ll hear a fair bit of noise pollution from a nearby tent with amplification (one of the downsides of Folk Festivals), but you also get to see the audience, who are into this!
Shant go Back to Shanty Club is a Redfern Shanty Club original, here lead by Robert Boddington (Bod) and Dan Schneider. Both fabulous crooners!
And here’s Dan Werndly again singing Cornbread and Butter Beans, with the Club doing the actions Dan devised to make the words easier to remember.
